Florida’s Public Records Laws make all materials made or received by an agency in connection with official business to be open for public inspection, unless the legislature has exempted it from disclosure. All arrest paperwork and crime reports are maintained by this section and yearly statistical compilation of major crimes, arrests, property dollar loss and recovery information is reported to FDLE fro inclusion into the Uniform Crime Report of Florida.

Civil Process/Warrants

The Civil Section is responsible for the receipt, processing, servicing and enforcement of subpoenas, summons, evictions, injunctions and other orders issued by the courts. The Warrants Sections primary responsibility is for receiving and processing warrants for the courts. This unit is also called upon to assist other agencies in locating fugitives who may have fled to another jurisdiction.

Human Resources

The responsibilities of the Human Resource Department are to maintain all applicant’s files, all employee’s files both personal and medical. The processing of new employees and all employees payroll. Explain all group health insurance benefits and work in conjunction with the employee, the health care providers and the insurance companies to insure the proper processing of claims for both full-time employees and retirees. Manage all workers compensation claims and act as a liaison between the employee, the health care provider and workers’ compensation.

The responsibilities of the Finance Department consist of, but are not limited to, grant reporting, balancing vendor statements, bank statements, filing state and federal reports, monitoring the state and federal law enforcement trust funds, certify funds for all purchases, assisting the auditors, filing and all other accounting functions. The Finance Department is also responsible for maintaining the checking accounts for the Sheriff’s Office Explorers.
